In 1972, Charles Tarbey started his career in real estate as an Assistant Property Manager. Being too young, he found it hard to obtain a sales position until an agent gave him the opportunity to start. At 18, he sold his first home and three years later, he purchased a real estate business with the equity he gained from a home he previously purchased.
In March 1983, Combined Real Estate started. It went on to become a well-known Real Estate Franchise Network in Sydney and New South Wales with 56 offices. On September 29, 1995, Charles purchased the Australasian arm of CENTURY 21 and merged the two companies creating CENTURY 21 which operates hundreds of offices in the Australasian region.
In 2011, Charles acquired the property assets of Wentworth Holdings comprised of 8000 residential, commercial and industrial managements. Wentworth Holdings is one of Australia’s largest property management groups. The purchase paved the way for integrating property management business into CENTURY 21 making it among the country’s largest and most diverse property groups.
