Here’s another of those ‘how long is a piece of string’ questions! It’s exciting that you are thinking of hiring someone, but what tasks should you put them in charge of?
Of course, it depends on your business and your personal strong points. An easy way to find the answer is to look for someone who is good at the things that you are not. If you’re a sales guru, find someone to take over administrative tasks. If you are a big picture thinker, find an offsider who has an eye for detail. Another approach is to hire someone to do the tasks that are costing you money. For example, if it takes you five hours to balance the books each week, find someone to do it for you and spend the time focused on easier wins.
