You’ve heard the saying, ‘first impressions last’. Let the customer speak first and be sure to understand their interests before you go in with the hard sell. One of my all-time favourite quotes has to be the following words by Epictetus, “nature gave us one tongue and two ears” In short, think before you speak. don’t forget about body language, this includes opening your arms, shaking hands and assuming a power pose. Last but not least, give your customer a maximum of three options and give them time to respond to you.
