If you don’t measure it, you can’t improve it. Key Performance Indicators, or KPIs, are a measurable value that demonstrates how effectively a company is achieving key business objectives. To be useful, KPIs must be written in a clear, concise manner, promoted, and given to employees so that they can translate all KPIs into precise, actionable steps. KPIs aren’t targets to make and hit. Set targets for performance, then use KPIs to monitor that progress. As a result, ensure staff don’t view KPI assessment negatively and communicate they’re just as likely to highlight strong performance as poor.
